Intrinsically safe modular PLC was developed to control and for visualization of machines and equipment operated in underground mines in areas endangered by firedamp and / or coal dust.

The individual components of intrinsically safe programmable driver ATUT-IMPS have independent certificates given by notified certification body to confirm the compliance with ATEX directive, which allows hardware configuration, tailored to the needs of the customer. ATUT-IMPS implementation meets the requirements of IEC 61131 on standardization of functional properties, operating and programming PLCs. For PLC programmers the IEC 61131-3 seems to be the most important part as it defines the programming languages. Compliance with the IEC 61131 standard enables customer to build his own software on the device, which has an impact on the life cycle of code, improves and accelerates the design, its implementation, testing and modernization. Built-in operation system enables to use any of defined in IEC 61131-3 languages such as:

• Instruction List (IL);
• Structured Text (ST);
• Funcion Block Diagram (FBD);
• Ladder Diagram (LD);
• Sequential Function Chart (SFC);
• PLC modules can communicate with each other via one of the three interfaces: I2C, RS-485, CAN.

Intrinsically safe modular PLC ATUT-IMPS is designed for use in most hazardous areas of mining plant where it can be used to:
